Turn on Hibernate when the Guarded host is Enabled
Some of the windows OS version by default has enabled guarded host. There might be several reasons for doing this but we will not go into this. Let’s say you are getting an error message when you are trying to enable hibernate option by the “cmd” panel. If you don’t know how to enable Hibernate power option by “cmd” then read the above article.
The Guarded error will look something like this
Disable Guarded Host
Step 1: Go to the control panel > uninstall or change a program.
Step 2: Now tap on the “Turn Windows features on or off” and then search “Guarded Host”.
Step 3: If there is a check box in “Guarded Host” then deselect it and then tap on OK to apply the changes. You will get a popup message asking for a restart now or later. So make sure you restart it otherwise the changes will not take effect.
Step 4: Now go to the “cmd” screen and run as administrator. Type the following command powercfg /hibernate on the cmd and hit enter. Now you shouldn’t get the error message and you will find the hibernate in power options.
