Since the last Whatsapp privacy update, millions of users across the world are moving to more privacy-concerned messenger i.e Telegram. Over 100 million new users joined Telegram this January. But what about the messages and memories that remain in older apps?
Starting today, everyone can bring their chat history – including videos and documents – to Telegram from apps like WhatsApp, Line, and KakaoTalk. This works both for individual chats and groups. So in the below article, you will learn how to export WhatsApp chat to Telegram messenger.
Export Whatsapp Chat to Telegram in Android
On Android, open a WhatsApp chat, tap ⋮ > More > Export Chat, then choose Telegram in the Share menu. Messages will be imported into the current day but will also include their original timestamps. All members of the chat on Telegram will see the messages of the imported group’s chat. Below twitter post has a beautiful animated post explaining the procedure.

Pavel Durov in his telegram post has also shared this news. He added, “Two weeks ago I realized this should be theoretically possible, and yesterday we made this feature available on both iOS and Android, together with many other improvements”.
This is quite amazing that they have actually made this possible within two weeks. This is the first time if any platform has actually done this. This is currently under the beta stage and the Telegram team is working on creating a tool to allow users to import messages to Telegram from anywhere.
