Step 1: Go to any browser and open this link https://play.google.com/apps/testing/com.whatsapp. You will see a page something like this, if you are on mobile then scroll down till you see a button “Become a Tester”.

Step 2: Make sure that you are logged in with the same email which is used for Playstore.

Step 3: Now tap on the “Become a Tester”. After some time you will be enrolled in the beta testing program. It may take 24hr also to become a beta tester, so be patient.



Step 4: To confirm if your application has been accepted, go to the above link again. And if you see “Welcome to the testing programme” that means you have been registered. whatsapp beta

Step 5: Now go to Playstore and search WhatsApp. Most probably you will receive an update and you can see the name of the app changes to Whatsapp Messenger(Beta). Also description will indicate that you are a beta tester.

Now there is the possibility that you may not get a chance to become a beta tester as I have already mentioned that the slots are limited. So you might get the message as shown in the below image. But if you are really eager to be part of the WhatsApp beta program then keep trying and someday you will get the beta tester link.

How to Opt-out from Beta Program?

You can leave the program anytime you want. All you need to do is launch the Google Play store and open WhatsApp from the app list. You will see a box under the section Leave. Later you will be needed to uninstall the app and reinstall it to get back to the public version of WhatsApp messenger.
