Google chat has finally been rolled out to android & iOS users. Previously it was only available through G-suite workspaces, which is a paid service. Now Google has made it available for all users. Now google chat is a part of google workspaces which includes Gmail, Room, Meet among other features.
The app is already listed on the playstore & app store which you can download and use it directly.
But the updated Gmail is perfectly capable to run google chat within Gmail itself. This seems very interesting where you don’t have to actually download any other app. If you want to enable Google chat in Gmail then follow the below steps.

How to Enable Google Chat in Gmail
Step 1: First update the Gmail app to the latest version.
Step 2: Now go to setting from the top left hamburger menu (≡).
Step 3: Scroll down and enable “Show the chat and Rooms tabs“.
Step 4: Now you can see the chats & rooms section in the bottom tile.
