Steps to Transfer Channel Ownership

Transferring the ownership is a very straight forward process. But before thinking of transferring the ownership you must keep in mind the eligibility criteria.

Eligibility criteria

Transfering the Channel/Group ownership to another user is an easy and quick process provided if you have enabled ‘Two-Factor Authentication” already. If not, you need to wait for at least 7 days upon enabling the authentication to complete the process.

To enable this authentication: Settings → Privacy and Security → Two-Step verification

However, this doesn’t end here as you also need to be logged in to the telegram app for more than 24 hours.

Steps to transfer channel ownership

Step 1: Open the channel and tap on the channel name.

Step 2: Scroll down and go to the Administrators → Add Admin

Step 3: Then choose the user to which you want to transfer ownership and make him an admin.
