Zoom took the world by storm after the onset of the COVID 19 pandemic. Originally developed for business/corporate meetings, Zoom became every household app. Despite several security breaches during zoom meetings, it remained the most popular choice everywhere in the world.
It is popular not only because of the clean interface and userfriendly. But because of many unique features that you won’t find in any other video conferencing app. The feature to add a Zoom virtual background is quite a masterpiece. A major part of the Zoom popularity is because of the virtual background feature. Initially, it was available for iOS & desktop applications but recently it has been made available for android also.
What is Zoom Virtual Background
Virtual background means the ability to replace the original video background with an artificial background. Sometimes your background looks messy and you don’t want to show it to someone you are talking. Well in that situation zoom virtual background becomes handy. Zoom artificial intelligence is so powerful that it can easily differentiate your figure from the background.
Hardware/Software Requirements in Android
Enable Zoom Virtual Background in Android
Before moving to the zoom setting you must update your Zoom app with the latest version from the play store. Next, you have to enable Zom Virtual background from the zoom website.
Go to Zoom website > My account > Settings > In Meeting(Advanced) > Toggle on Virtual background. Until and unless this feature is enabled on the Zoom web, you can’t see settings in android devices.
Step 1: Go to the Zoom app and log in.
Step 2: Jump to the setting from the bottom menu.
Step 3: Scroll down to the bottom in the setting menu where you can find the option “Keep virtual background for” and select an option.
Step 4: Now start a meeting or join a meeting. Go to More > Virtual Background.
Step 5: As you select the virtual background, you will be presented with some images to select as a virtual background.
Step 6: If you want to use a custom image as background then hit the plus icon right after the default images. From here you can set any image as your video background.
Well, the Zoom virtual background feature is easy to use but it does have its limitations. It sometimes fails to clearly differentiate between background and subject. This makes the video look like a cartoon. But if you use a green screen then it would be a perfect choice.
