Startup school launched by Google in India to nurture startup culture in small cities

A new initiative by Google has started Startup School India with an aim to help 10,000 startups from Tier 2 and Tier 3 cities. A 9-week virtual program will be arranged by Google leaders and collaborators from across the startup ecosystem.

Startup School is a series of guided online training designed to equip early-stage startup founders with the tools, products, and knowledge that growing companies need. The program covers several topics including fintech, language, social media and networking, job search, business-to-business and business-to-consumer e-commerce. Some other topics are user acquisition, product strategy, and more. Different industry leaders will take sessions under this program. You can check the full list of speakers here.

The nine-week programme will also feature fireside chats between Google leaders and trailblazing collaborators from across the startup ecosystem spanning fintech, D2C, B2B and B2C e-commerce, language, social media and networking, and job search.

“Aimed at early-stage founders with a minimum viable product, the program provides the flexibility of a virtual curriculum and allows attendees to pick and choose the modules they’d like to tune in for,”

With close to 70,000 startups, India is the third-largest birthing ground for startups in the world. Last year India registered one of the biggest unicorns startups. There was a time when these startups were mostly originated from big cities like Mumbai, Bangalore, and Delhi. But the new-age startups are coming from small cities too which needed a boost up and google startup school is helping in this.
