Telegram has finally launched the Telegram Ads platform silently to create a more sustainable business model without compromising privacy.
Durov’s Telegram channel had talked about the ads service back in Feb 2021 and finally, after 9 months this has come true. This is very good news for those channels which don’t have a direct way of generating revenue.
And there is another aspect of growing maintenance cost with the continuous growth in Telegram userbase across the world. On his official Telegram channel, Telegram CEO Pavel Durov recently shared that the app had gained over 70 million new app installs in just one day as a direct result of the outage of Facebook and WhatsApp, reaching over a billion installs on the Google Play Store.
So far, the expenses associated with the service have been covered by the founder’s own investments in the company, but the platform is now looking elsewhere to generate the finances needed to face the recent growth and maintenance costs.
To generate revenue, Telegram has launched the Telegram Ad Platform, allowing individuals and organizations to create and send sponsored messages.

About Telegram Advertising Business Model
According to Telegram sponsored messages on Telegram are displayed in large public one-to-many channels with 1000+ subscribers and are limited to 160 characters. Sponsored Messages are based solely on the topic of the public channels in which they are shown.
So basically they are talking that no user data will be mined or analyzed to display ads, and every user viewing a particular channel on Telegram sees the same sponsored messages. So there is no privacy breach which we see in case of Google & Facebook (Ooops Meta).

How to Create Telegram Ads [Official Process]
To start creating ads on the platform, you must first log in.
Step 1: Login to the Telegram Ads Platform
Step 2: This requires that you have an existing Telegram account – if you do not yet have an account, download mobile apps for Android or iOS and sign up.
Once you have an account, enter the account’s phone number on the login page, after which you instantly receive a message in Telegram (from Telegram verified service account) to confirm your login to the platform.
Step 4: After this you can start designing your ads such as Title, Text, URL, CPM & Ad Budget.
Step 5: Before finishing you have to add budget in the form of Euros( € ) only.
Step 6: One you are done you can send request and the response will come from Verified Telegram team. They might ask you necessary documents for their advertising agreement and deposit transfer.
