Telegram is one of the most popular cloud-based instant messaging application with over 400 million downloads. The last April, update Telegram promised to bring the group video calling update. But till now we haven’t received any news regarding group video call testing. Instead, Telegram has started a group voice calling feature in the latest beta update.
Enable Telegram Group Voice Call Feature on Android
If you’re interested to try out group voice chats on Telegram, you can download the latest version from Microsoft’s App Center. You can run the Telegram stable version parallelly with the Telegram Beta.
The experimental group voice calling feature is available through Telegram Beta 7.3.0. To access this feature first go to any group and tap on the group name.
Click on the 3 dots and select start voice chat. You will get a prompt message to all only admins which you can select or leave as it is depending on your personal choice, then press create. By default, the microphone will be muted which you can enable by clicking on the microphone button below or on the right side of your name.

There is also an option of tap to talk which you can do by pressing and holding the below microphone button.
You can add new participants or can share the invite link. Click on the 3 dots to get the share invite link and share it with anyone. The new participants who have joined can be in a muted or unmuted state depending upon what you choose.
Click on the 3 dots and you can preset the new participant’s state by selecting “New participants can speak” or “New participants are muted”.
And lastly, you can leave or end the call by clicking the leave button. You will get a prompt message where you can choose to just leave the group chat or end the entire group chat.

The group voice call beta has given a slight hint that the group video call is on the way. If this beta testing worked out then we might expect a stable Telegram update in the coming month.
