Whatsapp to Get Disappearing Message Soon

As per the latest news leak, Whatsapp is going to introduce this message disappearing feature in the next update. The company has not revealed anything officially, but it has added a FAQ page suggesting the possible rollout of the feature soon.

This disappearing message is again copied from its biggest rival Telegram. Telegram disappearing messages was introduced long back, where you can send only media as a disappearing message.

As per the FAQ on the WhatsApp page “You can send messages that disappear on WhatsApp by turning disappearing messages on. Once enabled, new messages sent in the chat will disappear after seven days.”

The company confirms that this feature will work both on individual & group chat. If a user doesn’t open WhatsApp in the seven day period, the message will disappear. However, the preview of the message might still be displayed in notifications until WhatsApp is opened.

By default, the media you receive in WhatsApp will be automatically downloaded to your photos. If disappearing messages are turned on, media sent in the chat will disappear but will be saved on the phone if auto-download is on. You can turn auto-download off in WhatsApp Settings > Data and Storage Usage.

The FAQ tells a lot about the disappearing message features and ways to enable group & individual chat. So on this behalf, we can expect that this feature will be live in the coming month.
